I have to use a big black mask like "Darth Vader," as the epoxy resin in the paint gives me asthma.

Priceless! |

This was my preliminary water colour for a piece which was displayed at the Eisteddfod in Bala.(Aug '09) This evokes the spirit of my old Welsh Aunt. She was one hell of a character. Loved playing with the fire and never put an electric light on if there was a full moon. Loved cats - she had no children. Anti Polly could never be parted from her hat. Woodbine cigarettes would smoke themselves to ash in the corner of her mouth - she could roll them from one side to the other whilst conversing. She gave coal, apple pies, mouldy(wedi llwydo!)for there was no fridge as presents for Christmas. She possessed a most beautiful, antique, expensive, fruit wood, inlaid oak dresser that shone like glass. Many relations admired this for decades - my mother however never mentioned that it ever existed to her. My mother inherited the dresser! I shall endeavor to write a poem - an Englyn - (this is now in progress and it is far more difficult than the painting!!!) to complete the work. I miss her. When she died, her little boots, size 3 were placed in a neat line of household goods going to the local auction house. Somethings you never forget.

This my Aunty Polly complete with Woodbines, cat, a large fire to play with and a lot of old Welsh wisdom in a quiet voice. This was displayed at the Eisteddfod in Bala in the Arts and Crafts pavillion August 2009. If you've never seen my work before - there is a 3-dimensional aspect to it which flattens out on the computer screen. There were approx. 150 hand cut pieces of glass here - making each object have a raised layered effect which is not readily distinguishable on a photograph. You have to see the real thing!

T H Parry Williams a famous poet who lived here, said in a beautiful way, that he could feel the presence of God in this place. It is most exquisitly beautiful at the moment under a snowy coverlet. Sorry - snow now disappeared. This is new work - 2010. The Cwellyn Arms pub is nearby - had superb wild mushroom risotto - recommended.

This is an iconic view of a magnificent mountain that I know like an ageing face by now. Sketched last week in bright sunshine, standing on the bridge in a hand numbing breeze.
